Artist's Description
The fact that Rust Never Sleeps is evident in this photograph of the hawse pipe and steel plates that protected the hull of this wooden ship from damage by the anchor when she was still in service. The wooden hull now serves as a breakwater for a marina in Anacortes, WA where she lies hard aground and covered by a young forest growing on her upper decks.
