The Trinacria (aka: Triskelion) is the symbol of the island of Sicily. The face of Medusa is surrounded by 3 snakes, 3 ears of wheat, and 3 bent legs. The triangle is said to represent the shape of Sicily including the 3 capes of Pelorus, Pachynus, and Lilybaeum.
