We encountered this elephant just as he was leaving the water hole. His face and ears are covered with a thick coat of red mud; a natural sunscreen and insect repellent.

Thank you very much Inge. It was captured from a ground level blind disguised as a termite mound where I spent two hours concealed near a water hole at the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge.
